HappeningsBefore Thanksgiving vacation, we made decorations for a Christmas tree at the Hotel Saranac. We will be going over to decorate it soon.ReligionWe have planned the prayer service for Nov. 30th for the beginning of Advent. We are also doing the readings, singing etc. for the Dec. 8th School Liturgy for the feast of the Immaculate Conception. We will be learning how we can prepare ourselves for the celebration of the birthday of Jesus on Christmas.Language ArtsWe are learning about blends and digraphs to help us figure out new words. We continue to improve our reading skills by reading and working on independent reading activities. We are also improving our writing skills by learning to proofread and edit short paragraphs. This should help us with our writing.MathWe continue with our Math Board activities each day. We are adding more math facts to our minute fact practice sheets each day. We are also learning to count by 25, tell time to five-minute intervals, and add 3 or more single-digit numbers.Social StudiesBefore Thanksgiving we learned about the first Pilgrims and how they survived their first year in America with the help of an Indian named Squanto.
