Religion Wow, what a year! It's hard to believe we are in our last full week of school already! As we finish up our school year, we focus on the many wonderful things we have done this year. In religion this week, we recall the blessings of this wonderful school year. We reflect on the many blessings we have in our lives and at St. Bernard's School.
English Language Arts We will be finishing up our Reading Street Assessments this week. This is a lot of work. It is amazing to see how far we have come in such a short time. We are reading so well, imrpoving our writing skills, and developing our thoughts and ideas so much better than we were at the start of the year. Look for many fun and interesting writing assignments to come home throughout the week, as well as used work books and school supplies.
Other Studies SOCIAL STUDIES: We are sad to see the school year come to an end. One of the major units of study from our year has been role models. Spanning the entire school year, we have learned about many different role models we can look to as an example of how we want to live. Last week, we nominated one role model each to be elected the 2007-2008 Role Model of the Year. It was very hard to pick from such an impressive group of role models. Nominees are listed in order of least votes to most votes: St. Francis, Alexander Graham Bell, A fifth grader, St. Patrick, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr,and Dr. Seuss. Two role models actually tied for first place. They will be awarded at the Awards Day celebration on Thursday at 1:30 in the church.
Misc. Info Tuesday- PEA meeting at 7:00 pm in the Library.
Thursday- Award Ceremony in church at 1:30 pm
Friday- Substitute in the morning. Also, SBS Family Barbequeat 5:00 ish.
Sunday- Fifth Grade graduation.
