Social Studies 7 & 8 Classroom Survival Skills: 1. Be prompt---in assigned seat when bell rings 2. Be prepared--textbook, notebook, pen, homework 3. Be polite---respectful of everyone and everything at all times 4. Be participating---pay attention and follow directions Current Topics Social Studies 7: Government (Federal,State,Local) Social Studies 8: Depression,New Deal,World War II,Cold War NYS Social Studies Exam,Grade 8 Dates: June 2 & 3 Format: 50 Multiple Choice questions, Constructed Response questions (short answer), DBQ (Document-based question---document interpretation and essay) Topics: covers all major topics from Social Studies 7 & 8. Test Preparation: Extra help available in Social Studies AIS class, Wednesdays at 3:30PM in Mrs. Casey's Room.

Survival Tips 1. complete all assignments 2. study for all tests and quizzes 3. keep a notebook (neat and complete) 4. complete one report each marking period (on an assigned topic) 5. be a good class participant (everyday) What to expect Social Studies 7: Participation in the essay contest sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution Geography Club: preparation for Geography Bee sponsored by the National Geographic Society. Social Studies 8: preparation for the New York State Social Studies Exam in June.
