Religion The most important day in the Catholic Religion is quickly approaching. We are preparing to celebrate Easter by studying the days of Holy Week.
ELAAs we finish the last unit in our book, we are practicing all of the great information we have learned this year. Nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and prepositions, nothing is too hard for us!
Math We've really gone far this year in math. We began with simple strategies for multiplication and division, and are now exploring perimiter and area of geometric figures. Also, we are doing great with Hot Pencils.
Science Our unit on the uses of electricity in our homes brought up some really great safety topics. Take the time to review as family how the circuit breakers and generators work. Talk about the danger spots of electricity in your house, and review the plan for a fire.
Social Studies The New York State assessment is fast approaching! We are focusing on the preperation for that exam. We will try to cover as much curriculum content and test prep. that we can. However, we couldn't ignore the election. We had so much fun preparing ballots and the voting booth for the school. Also, we got a taste of all the work that goes into registering voters and counting votes in the end. We even learned about the Electoral College and created a mock Electoral College for St. Bernard's school. The results are in... Bush clearly the winner!
